From the Book of Opportune Moments
On my way home from work today
I met a man who didn't exist.
He showed me his two front teeth, grinning
as he held them up to my eyes.
I wanted to ask him whether it was true
he carried his house around
on his back like a great turtle.
But then the bus pulled up
hissing at me to shut my mouth.
