Away and Indoors on a Sunny Day in Bergen
Light pours into the space between
here and the next thing I can see.
Life on second floors means to know
a city by its chimney pots
means to miss the docks and glittered waters.
In rooms speech and movement fade
and the windows trouble like a ringing ear.
If we cannot be somewhere near home
if we cannot be together at coffee or sea
could we not go outside
and blink against our good fortune?
