Blue Bread
Scrape from the perfect sky
a pocketful of that sock-you-in-the-eyes blue.
Grind it and leaven it with life.
Serve blue bread
such that your friends will bite into clouds
and their tongues might
change as readily from rabbits
into whales.
About the author:
"Twelve thousand feet over Iowa, after several whiskey sours melt away the banality, a dimple-chinned stewardess asks me damply and in a miracle of teeth, whether I want her handprints all over my hunger." Cork Kyle notes that he, "like you, is in search of the miraculous in everyday life." He lives in Bellevue, Washington with his wife and sweetheart, Lisa.
