[You there with green teeth] from Nights and Weekends

You there green with teeth

and certificates, summer

another midnight

under a dotted line (a trust fund)

jumping under trees in the dark

it's like high school, where dreams come true

It's clever to be easy, dancing on tables

or on fire, glassy-eyed

Speech

is what's the problem. Once removed

Language is what's a rubber tube

In the back of the van.
