Mulligan Stew Recipes
Trains run late. They always run late. Do they even have a schedule?
D.L. and Holly had a LONG midnight wait in the eerie silent station where only dripping waterway off in the darkness was heard, echoing for miles. Then, faraway, there was a siren. Coming closer. Slowly, D.L. realized it wasn't overhead, but down in the tunnels. The bright red fire train screamed past. On the hook-and-ladder ensemble at the end, a harried driver nodded. The face was familiar. Then D.L. realized it was his old roommate, Earl Durham.
Later, as they departed from the station of their destination, D.L. glanced at the token booths and recognized the two gnarled faces, Edwin Arlington Robinson and Edgar Whitcomb Riley. Poetry obviously didn't pay anymore.
There are many kinds of subway scofflaws. There are also many kinds of literary scofflaws.
"Let's go to a movie," he suggested to his lovely.
