Servings
The children have placed our eggplants
Beneath their shirts, purple boobs.
Earlier, daughter was pregnant
With a honeydew.
You wondered, why not a balloon?
Can't pop this, she said, plus it has seeds.
Tonight I carve her child-melon
Into ridiculous grins, seeds
Like teeth, spill out in such a hurry.
