people say that
the fate of the lost gas-station-bathroom key
will determine his afterlife.
he examines the epistemology
of fortune cookies of rocking chairs
of parked cars of sanitariums—
the newspaper smells like moth-balls & tells nothing.
chalk it up to _____.
everyday people get annoyed when _____.
just as the first dinner
after a difficult hour,
so with the wind's scratch & the calendar.
sometimes he counts just to count.
